Introducing Our New Fully Recyclable Coffee Bags

A project that has been in the works behind the scenes over the past twelve months has finally come to fruition; our new fully recyclable paper coffee bags are here! You will start seeing the new bags in your orders from this week.

THE NEXT STEP FORWARD IN OUR COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY

Our new paper bags are 100% recyclable; they can go straight into the standard kerbside recycling, along with cardboard and paper goods. We've also binned plastic stickers; the new uncoated paper labels do not need to be removed for recycling.

WHAT ELSE IS NEW?

Seven Seeds Espresso Blend has been rebranded as House Blend. Rest assured that this is the same Espresso Blend you’re already familiar with, just with a new name on the bag. We'll ease the transition between the two names with a bit of co-branding (think Seven Seeds ‘House’ Espresso Blend) before we eventually phase out the old name.

SEALING IN FRESHNESS WITHOUT RESEALING

The new bags are not resealable. For in-store grind requests, we have Seven Seeds paper tape (also recyclable) on the way. In the meantime, you can roll the top down tight and seal it with normal sticky tape or any branded stickers you may already have - just a heads up that anything plastic will need to be removed before recycling.

We have been testing the paper bags at HQ since the beginning of the year to ensure no loss in freshness using paper vs plastic. You can reassure customers that these bags have been purpose-made for coffee packaging.

LET US KNOW WHAT YOU THINK!

This packaging refresh aligns with our core values of sustainability and transparency. Not only does it minimise our environmental impact, its also an easier recycling process for customers at home.

It’s a big change and we’re keen to hear any feedback - drop us a line at any time to share your thoughts on our new recyclable packaging.
